The Slow Mo Guys are Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy, whose channel films everyday events with high-speed cameras. Here they pour paint onto a speaker cone and film the result at 2,500 frames per second on a Phantom Flex.
As a cymatics reference it does two things. It shows the actual excursion of a cone, which is much larger and slower-looking than people expect, and it shows paint separating into sheets and droplets at the moment the cone changes direction. Nothing about the physics is explained, and the paint is chosen for colour rather than for any acoustic reason.
