On the Same Wavelength is a 2020 film from the MIT School of Science, directed by Sarah Klein and Tom Mason of Redglass Pictures. It tells the story of how Li-Huei Tsai's lab came to test 40 Hz light flicker in mice, and recreates the key early experiments of former graduate student Hannah Iaccarino. It is a narrative film rather than a lab explainer, with cast credits for a young Li-Huei and a grandmother.
As a companion to the Picower Institute's more technical video, it is useful for the human context: why the lab looked at gamma rhythms at all, and what a positive mouse result looked like in the room. It does not add data, and the framing, retraining brainwaves with flickers to reverse damage, is the lab's most hopeful reading of its results.
Worth watching for the story, with the understanding that the science it dramatises is still in progress.
